Definition
Blood pressure is the pressure that blood exerts or
pushing against the walls of arteries from heart. Each time your heart beats,
it pumps blood into arteries and flow throughout the body.
Types of blood
pressure
Systolic and diastolic are two types of blood pressure
that human heart experience. Systolic blood pressure is that when heart release collected
blood in to arteries by pumping. Generally we call it heart beat. The blood
pressure is maintained while blood is filling into heart by vein is known as diastolic blood
pressure. Blood flow pressure on arteries point of view there are two types of
blood pressure that is high
blood pressure and low
blood pressure.
Importance of blood pressure
Blood pressure is one the important functions of human
body because it delivers oxygen and food nutrients to cells and tissues. It is
only function that ensures flow of nutrients and oxygen with necessary speed in
right time.
Defective Blood
pressure
When blood pressure is more or less than the normal
range of blood pressure is called defective blood pressure. Generally 120/80
mmHg is normal, 140/90 mmHg is Hypertension (High blood pressure), 180/120 mmHg
is considered Hypertensive (Extremely High blood pressure) emergency which
needs immediate medical attention. 90/60 mmHg is a condition of Hypotension
which is known as low blood pressure.
Causes of blood
pressure
Causes of Hypotension: Dehydration, Malnutrition, Side effect of
medication, Pregnancy, heart condition and endocrine problems and some other
factors are the main causes of hypotension. It is known as low blood pressure.
Symptoms of low blood pressure are dizziness, laziness, weakness, unconsciousness;
blur vision, nausea, cold, clammy skin, rapid breathing and confusion etc.
Hypertension: It is often
called high blood
pressure which causes severe headache, chest pain, shortness of breath, vision
problem, fatigue, nose bleeding etc. are common symptoms of high blood
pressure. If any of these symptoms you find with patient, you must consult
doctor immediately. Imbalanced diet, smoking, stress, insufficient sleep, lack of physical activity, obesity, side
effect of medications can cause hypertension or high blood pressure.
Impact of
defective blood pressure
The effect of hypertension or high blood pressure can cause severe
damage like heart, kidney, brain, and eyes. Most of the patients have common
fatal disease like heart attack, kidney failure, brain stroke, blur vision etc.
headache, shortness breathing, impaired vision, chest pain, dizziness are some symptoms of defective blood pressure.
Dementia and bone weakening are also outcome of defective blood pressure. The effect
of hypotension can be noticed with some symptoms like fainting, fatigue, confusion
, and nausea, rapid breathing, cold, clammy skin etc. these underlying causes
must be identified and should be treated in time to prevent serious damage of
internal organs.
Controlling
blood pressure
To control blood pressure or to keep the blood
pressure in balance you must obey some rules. At first healthy lifestyle should
be adopted by the patient. Controlled and balanced diet like reducing sodium
intake, increasing potassium rich diet, maintaining healthy weight, doing
regular exercise, aerobic and strength training can minimise the chances of
damaging valuable internal organs by controlling blood pressure. Life style
changing can be alterative to medication. But patient must consult doctor or
physician and follow his instruction.
Conclusion
I always recommend do exercising and following the
guide lines provided by physicians to prevent the fatal disease like blood
pressure. Control diet and regular exercise is an effective way to prevent hypotension
and hypertension. Yoga and pranayam (breathing exercise) can be more effective
towards cure and prevent such disease. After
all life is yours so choice must be yours.
